Introduction
We built this shortwave replacement lamp to be a straight swap for those halogen heaters in industrial process equipment. No compromises. No messing around. It’s a 1000W lamp that runs right off the mains. The quartz tube is 380mm long and uses an R7s base. Our whole point? When the original lamp burns out, you can pop this one in and get the same heat and cycle times back—without having to rework the fixture.
Let’s Talk Tech
At 1000W on standard line voltage, you get predictable heat density. That means you don’t have to re-engineer the reflector or power supply. And the 380mm length? Not random. It matches the footprint of common heaters, so it clears brackets, ceramic insulators, and reflectors without a fight. The heat stays exactly where the process needs it, keeping the temperature profile consistent across the target. Because it’s shortwave, the energy is concentrated in the near-infrared band. That’s a big deal. It couples efficiently into plastics, glass, and metal surfaces, heating them fast. You get quicker surface heating and shorter warm-up times than you’d see with long-wave sources—especially important when you’re running high-speed lines.
What It’s Made Of
The envelope is high-purity quartz for a reason. It handles the thermal shock of rapid on/off cycling and stays steady even when the filament runs hot. Inside, the halogen cycle keeps the filament clean. Evaporated tungsten gets redeposited back onto the filament instead of blackening the envelope. So both light and heat stay stable over the life of the lamp. The R7s connector is a double-ended bayonet. It locks in axially and carries both contacts through the ceramic holder. It’s standard in industrial heaters because it’s quick to install, mechanically solid, and handles the current without needing extra adapters.
Where It Shines
This lamp is your go-to for rapid, localized heating. Think PET preform heating, thermoforming zones, adhesive curing, or component drying. As a replacement, it matches the wattage and form factor, so you can swap it in during scheduled maintenance and keep the same control settings. One heads-up, though: 1000W packed into a compact envelope means serious heat. Make sure your fixture ventilation, reflector condition, and thermal management are up to spec. If they’re not, you’ll shorten the lamp life.
