Halogen Far Infrared Heat Lamp: Power, Design, and Industrial Application
We built this halogen far infrared heat lamp for the industrial heating jobs that can’t afford to wait. The kind where you need heat, right now, and it has to hit the target with pinpoint focus. You need a heater that fires up instantly, keeps its output steady, and slips into a tight spot without forcing you to overhaul the whole line. That’s what we set out to create.
Power, Voltage, and Size—Straight to the Point
Here’s the thing: we packed serious heat into a small package. This lamp runs at 400V and 2500W, delivering a high watt-per-inch ratio from a 300mm tube. That makes integration a whole lot easier. Going with high voltage means you get the power you need with lower current. So you can use smaller conductors and keep your control wiring clean and manageable. And that 300mm length? It gives you a predictable thermal footprint, so you can plan your heat zones without playing a guessing game.
The Build: Quartz, Coating, and a Reliable Connection
The halogen chemistry is the quiet hero here. It keeps the filament stable and extends the lamp’s life by sending tungsten back to the filament instead of letting it blacken the bulb. The quartz envelope is tough. It handles the shock of rapid on/off cycles and stands up to high operating temperatures without breaking a sweat. Then we added a far infrared coating, which tunes the output toward longer wavelengths. That means better absorption for a lot of the materials you’re working with. And the R7s connector? It’s a simple, proven interface that makes this lamp a straightforward, drop-in replacement for what you’re already using.
Where It Shines—and What to Keep in Mind
This lamp is your go-to for rapid, localized heating. Think PET blowing, plastic welding, curing, and drying. The fast response cuts down cycle time, and the focused heat profile means you’re not wasting energy heating the air around your work. But there’s a trade-off. That 2500W density is serious, so you need to plan for proper cooling and thermal spacing. Size your heat shielding and airflow to match the lamp, and you’ll get repeatable, controllable heat that keeps your line moving.
