
Getting Your SACMI Rotary Machines to Heat Faster
When you’re running a SACMI rotary blow molder, things move fast. Like, really fast. You only have a tiny window of time to get that PET preform heated up before it has to move. If your lamps are lagging, you’re in trouble. That’s why we built our IR lamps to snap to full temperature almost instantly. No waiting around. No sluggish warm-ups.
Why speed actually matters here
It all comes down to the physics of the filament. We use high-purity quartz glass and a specific tungsten blend to keep the thermal mass low. Basically, we’ve stripped away the “dead weight” so the lamp hits its operating temp in milliseconds. This means even when you’re pushing your bottles-per-minute (BPM) to the limit, every single preform gets the exact same heat soak. Consistent heat equals consistent bottles.
No headaches during installation
We didn’t want you spending hours on a wiring diagram. These are designed as simple drop-in replacements for SACMI systems. Whether you’re on 230V or 400V, the wattage is dialed in to give you high heat density without blowing a fuse or overloading your power rails. We also used standard connectors, so you can swap them out quickly during a shift change and get back to production.
A quick word of caution
Here’s the thing: pushing this much energy into such a small space generates a lot of heat. If your cooling fans are choked with dust or your airflow is blocked, the oven temperature will start to creep up. That’s when you start seeing preforms deform or lamps burning out way too early. Just keep an eye on your cooling system and make sure it can handle the lamp’s wattage. It’ll save you a lot of grief in the long run.
