Getting Your Sidel SR 8 and Matrix Blowers Back Up to Speed
When you’re running PET stretch blow molding, the last thing you want to deal with is a heat profile that’s all over the place. You need lamps that just fit. That’s why we built our replacement lamps for the Sidel SR 8 and the Matrix series to be true drop-ins. No hacking the wiring. No messing with the lamp holders. You just put them in and get moving. The fit matters more than you think. Going from the old-school SBO machines to the Matrix series changed how heat moves around, but the physical space is still tight. We stick to the exact length and wattage of the original specs. Why? Because if a lamp is even slightly off, you get cold spots. And cold spots mean uneven walls in your bottles, which is a headache nobody needs on the production floor. What’s actually inside? We use high-purity quartz glass and a halogen cycle. In plain English: it stops the tungsten from evaporating. This keeps the glass clear and the light strong for thousands of hours. We also tuned these for shortwave infrared. It hits the PET preform faster than longwave radiation, which means you can shave time off your cycles. And about those connectors—we use standard industrial ones that lock right into the Sidel sockets. No wobbling. No play. Because a loose connection leads to arcing, and arcing burns out your sockets. We keep the tolerances tight so you don’t have to worry about it. A quick heads-up on the trade-off High-wattage lamps are great for fast cycles and high throughput. But they put a lot of pressure on your cooling blowers. If your ventilation is clogged or just can’t keep up, these lamps will practically bake your housing. Just keep your airflow clear, and your lamps will last a lot longer. The whole point here is simple. You swap the burnt-out tube, plug it in, and get back to work without having to spend hours recalibrating the entire oven.
