Keep the air moving, and your quartz envelope won’t overheat. Simple as that. Why the quartz and halogen matter We use high-purity quartz glass to hold the halogen gas. It sounds technical, but all it really means is that the filament can run much hotter than a regular lightbulb without just evaporating away. This gives you a shorter wavelength of light. It doesn’t just hit the surface; it actually penetrates the PET wall. And we don’t mess around with the end-caps. They’re standardized so they seat perfectly in the socket.
