Let’s be honest: a lot of shops are overpaying for IR heating lamps just because they have a famous international brand name stamped on them. But when you’re actually standing on the shop floor running a finishing line, you don’t care about a logo. You care about one thing:does the heat hit the wood consistently? The Secret is in the Wave
We stick with short-wave infrared. Why? Because it punches through the coating much faster than long-wave options. If you’re looking for a replacement, keep an eye on the wattage-to-length ratio. When you pack more wattage into a shorter tube, you get a higher heat density. That speeds up the curing cycle, which means your line moves faster. Simple as that.
No Rewiring Nightmares
Nobody wants to spend their weekend rewiring an entire rack just to switch brands. We use high-purity quartz glass—which keeps the lamps from burning out too early—and we offer R7s or Sk15 connectors. They’re basically drop-in replacements. Plus, some of our tubes have specialized coatings. These shift the spectral output to target the specific resins in your wood lacquers, making the whole process a bit more precise.
A Word of Advice from the Field
These lamps are built for the grind. They can handle the thermal cycling of a 24/7 production shift without breaking a sweat. But here’s a heads-up: if you decide to push the wattage to the limit, you’re adding a lot more heat to your housing. For example, if you jump from a 1500W to a 2000W tube to squeeze out more speed,double-check your ventilation. If your cooling fans can’t keep up, you’re risking warped reflectors or melted wiring insulation. It’s not worth the risk. At the end of the day, you get the same cure and the same technical performance. You just stop paying extra for a fancy name.
